Borderline personality disorder is a mental health condition characterized by intense mood swings and insecurities that make it difficult for people to connect with others. Many people might confuse BPD with bipolar, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and many other illnesses because they can be similar to or overlap with other mental health problems at the same time. Many heretics believe that you're possessed by a demon, or a spirit, or that you're crazy when it comes to mental illness but they don’t understand the science behind these horrible mental illnesses. At the moment there is still no clear reason why people suffer from borderline personality disorder but researchers believe stressful or traumatic life events and genetic factors cause it. There also isn’t a way to prevent or cure borderline personality disorder. Currently, the only form of treatment is receiving therapy or speaking with a medical professional.BPD is like the emotional version of being a burn victim. Everything hurts more than it seems to for everyone else, and any “thick skin” you're supposed to have just isn't there. An example of this would be Marilyn Monroe, we know that her family has a history of mental illnesses such as her mother Gladys Pearl Baker. Back in the 60s doctors never knew about BPD and mistook Marilyn as being psychotic and schizophrenic. She was always told that she was a “very sick girl”. She would show signs of BPD when she would frequently show up late for work, throw tantrums on sets, or confidently and unabashedly forget her lines while acting, without needing to make an excuse for it. Doctors have noted that individuals with BPD are more prone to using drugs and alcohol as a means of dealing with the intense emotions they go through. Throughout Marilyn’s life, she suffered from this ugly mental illness which could have led her to the use of substances and maybe even her death.
