In "Pandemic Unleashes a Spike in Overdose Deaths," we learn the effects of COVID-19 on the lives of drug addicts around the world. Usually, individuals start using drugs due to their depression or anxiety. The pandemic has brought them even more anxiety and depression. Therefore, they take the decision of using even more drugs to avoid sadness. By the first months of 2020 there was only an 11. 4% increase of overdoses. The pandemic was starting to increase by the first months. However, when more time passed by it brought an increase of 57% deaths of overdoses compared to 2019. There has been an increase all around the world. For example, in Kentucky there has been a 25% rise of overdoses deaths on the beginning of 2020 while others had an increase by the middle of the 2020 year. Globally, there has been an increase everywhere in different times of the year. Trump says that he might bring the Affordable Care Act (ACA) down . It is said that loosening the ACA will make a negative effect on drug addicts. Trump is not aware of any addiction situation for now. Due to the pandemic, Trump has gone silent for drug addicts and overdoses. The pandemic is on his mind a lot more than individuals with drug use problems. That will increase even more the rates of overdoses. During the pandemic, it is said that behavioral health services are becoming even more difficult to find. By November 2019 there has already been a 3% jump of overdoses. Of course, it is expected that in a new data there should be a bigger increase of that percentage. Unfortunately, many services and programs in the United States that help prevention of drug addiction and overdoses are now on freeze due to the pandemic as well.
